Proudly Eco-Concious
Golden Rock Resort is committed to being an eco-conscious and sustainable resort to pioneer the future of responsible travel. In the Caribbean, the sun is our greatest friend. With a uniquely composed field of 2,240 solar panels producing 0.8 megawatts of electricity each day, the resort is fully off the grid powering the entire resorts energy needs. We apply a ‘zero waste of water’ policy. Through reverse osmosis machines, salt water from the ocean is pumped through a series of membrane contained pipes, filtering out the salt and small particles resulting in pure, clean Golden Rock drinking water.
Thereafter, the resorts wastewater is treated through a helophyte filter and used for irrigation of the gardens. Since opening in September 2021, we have
planted over 130,000 plants, flowers and trees, creating a new ecosystem on the island which subsequently has introduced new wildlife species and inhabitants. A nice place to visit is the 20,000 ft⊃2; greenhouse. Due to the rich volcanic soil and care and love off our gardeners, the vegetables, fresh fruit and herbs grow fast. The chefs use the ingredients from the greenhouse in their daily menus.
