Byblos Art Hotel emerges as a unique reality in the panorama of international luxury hospitality, thanks to a project that is born of a love deplored for art in every expression. We are in Valpolicella, a land known for its oenological excellence, in the province of Verona, a city of art from which is a few kilometers away, in a strategic position to visit Venice, Milan, Lake Garda and the whole north Italy.
The sixteenth Villa Amistà of Corrubbio di Negarine was originally designed by the architect Michele Sanmicheli and it was leaving abandoned when the Facchini family, owners of the fashion brand Byblos and great collectors of contemporary art, fell in love with this place and decided to make it something really special.
After the important restorations that have invested the entire complex (consisting of the central body, the two turrets, the church and the large park of more than twenty thousand square meters) it was commissioned to the famous Architect Alessandro Mendini to personally care for the entire interior design project of the future five-star luxury hotel, inaugurated in 2005.
Byblos Art Hotel has 59 rooms divided in different types, each of which is the realization of the scenery orchestrated by the master. In each room and common area there are objects and furnishings of the most important international designers (among them Gio Ponti, Eero Saarinen, F.L. Wright, Aldo Rossi, Philippe Starck, Ron Arad, Gaetano Pesce, Anna Gili, Patricia Urquiola, Harrison & Gil, Marcel Wanders, Ettore Sottsass, Luca Sacchet) which co-exist with works of art in a collection in which every detail is expression of the infinite passion for art that underlies the whole project Byblos Art Hotel.
As mentioned, art is the distinctive trait of Byblos Art Hotel concept. The great lobby, the reception, the restaurant and even corridors leading to the rooms, become a real and proper museum, with over 100 works of artists who are writing the history of contemporary art, including, to name a few, Marina Abramovic, Vanessa Beecroft, Peter Halley, Demian Hirst, Anish Kapoor, Andy Warhol, Marc Quinn, Cindy Shermann. The collection is growing with new projects of artists who are called to create site specific works.
The combination of art, design and fashion in an ancient context such as Villa Amistà, makes the whole project of Byblos art Hotel as a fascinating scenery designed to give shape to an exceptional experience of unmatched hospitality.
The Amistà Restaurant represents the elegance of informality with a kitchen linked to the products of the territory and at the same time with an international opening to satisfy the public's wide variety Byblos Art Hotel.
